Client Profile: Bread of Life Ministries
Founded in 1984 to support the needs of hungry and homeless people in the Augusta area, Bread of Life Ministries operates the area's only homeless shelter and soup kitchen.
As Bread of Life has grown and expanded its services in recent years, it has sought the assistance of Doyle & Nelson in undertaking a variety of projects, including: transitional housing for families; single room occupancy housing for individuals; and a home ownership program for low-income families.
Most recently, through a partnership between Bread of Life Ministries and Kennebec Valley Community Action Program (KVCAP), Cony Village, LLC was formed.
Cony Village, LLC is currently developing an affordable housing community that combines smart growth with affordability in a neighborhood setting. The 43 residential units that will make up Cony Village will be built on corner of Eastern Avenue and the Cony Road in Augusta. Craig Nelson has been closely involved with both the real estate development and innovative financing package of this project.
